Adult Spinal Fellow February 2018 – February 2019

After completing my specialist training in Trauma & Orthopaedics, I focussed on sub-specialty training in spinal surgery and worked in Nottingham, Leeds and Middlesborough spinal Units. I was looking for a spinal fellowship which could provide me with a well rounded experience in Paediatric deformity surgery as well as adult degenerative spinal conditions. The Sheffield Spinal Unit gave me this opportunity. The Fellowship gave me the opportunity to work at the Northern General Hospital as well as at The Sheffield Children’s Hospital. I felt well supported throughout my fellowship as I found my trainers friendly and approachable. The Sheffield Spinal MDT offers outstanding educational opportunities for spinal fellows as it has trauma, infection, deformity and degenerative elements improving your decision making skills. After completing my fellowship, I secured the post of Locum Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Luton and Dunstable NHS Foundation Trust.
